History DAO is a New York City-based blockchain project centered on the history-making potential of nonfungible tokens (NFTs). It has the opportunity to host a livestream discussion on its newly founded YouTube channel with one of the leading history-recorders of the internet age, Kevin Kelly.

Kelly will be joining the call from his home in California, at 11:00 pm UTC on March 15, and the live interview will be conducted by WendyO, who has gained fame and trust not only within the blockchain and NFT space but also through consistently insightful commentary on platforms such as YouTube and Twitter since 2018.

History DAO reached out to Kelly because of his seminal role in the history of the internet. Kelly co-sponsored the first Hackers Conference in 1984 under the auspices of the publisher of the Whole Earth Catalog, which also supported the oldest digitally based community bulletin board, The Well, founded in 1985 and still operating today. In the early 90s, he became the founding editor and “Senior Maverick” of Wired Magazine. In his career as a journalist observing the relationship between human beings and technology, he became famous for making dependable predictions about what that relationship would produce in the future.

Kelly has published several philosophical books on technology during the past decades, and his most recent work is a labor of love from the time he first arrived in an Asian country with a camera in hand: “Vanishing Asia,” an anthology of more than 9,000 photographs he took while traveling through Asia since the 1970s.

History DAO is developing a platform aiming to apply the unique properties of NFTs and hash algorithms in the process of recording history. A nonfungible digital entity on a viable blockchain becomes, for all practical purposes, immutable and indelible in the face of the most extreme measures, which could have significant implications for the way historical events are recorded, prioritized and verified.
